"Today, we reaffirm our solidarity and alliance with Brussels Mayor Yvan Mayeur as he leads his City through the death, mayhem and destruction from the dastardly terrorist deeds committed at his airport and metro station.
"We are reminded today of Paris, San Bernardino and yes, 9/11. Mayors around the world know that our national government and our cities must coordinate and invest in the protection from today's terrorists who are committed to attack cities across the Globe."
