New Test Centers in Four Locations Set Global Standard for Quality and Convenience

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Mar 24, 2016) - Prometric, the global leader in secure high stakes testing, has opened four new, state-of-the-art facilities in New York City. Annually, Prometric can deliver 250,000 exams in New York City, supporting individuals seeking quality test day experiences and convenient access to earn valuable professional credentials and graduate school admissions. Prometric's New York City expansion enhances seating capacity across the market by 23 percent. A hallmark of all Prometric test centers is to include dedicated work stations for candidates requiring testing accommodations, recognizing the Americans with Disabilities Act as standard practice. Prometric has more than 50 employees in the city to support its test center operations.

Michael Brannick, Prometric's President and CEO, said, "Our New York City test centers reflect Prometric's ongoing investment to support licensing and certifying organizations around the world. The exams we deliver on behalf of our clients uphold rigorous standards for practicing medicine, accounting, law, teaching, engineering and a host of other highly sought after credentials. From this perspective, we safeguard the community with every exam. From the test taker's point of view, we support career and education advancement."

Among the four new sites, Prometric has opened a new MegaCenter location on the 25th floor of 1250 Broadway, which can seat more than 80 test takers at any one time. Other locations include 388 Bridge Street in Brooklyn, 59-17 Junction Boulevard in Queens and 80 Broad Street, Downtown.

Features of Prometric test sites include clean, modern interior layouts to maximize comfort and ease for candidates to complete their test day experience. Sites include secure zones, with walkthrough metal detectors, making check-in faster and allowing candidates time to gather their thoughts before their test center administrator guides them to their work station. Over-sized lockers and high-top counters better accommodate candidate storage needs.

Candidates enjoy quiet, calm lab environments and benefit from a host of specialty features, such as call buttons at each workstation to help ensure they get prompt assistance when they need it the most. Digital video monitoring creates fair and valid test scores across all candidates vying for limited job and education opportunities.

Prometric's MegaCenter network spans nine major population centers globally, delivering world-class, secure testing experiences while affording candidates greater access and convenience for selecting specific test dates and times that work best for them. These high-volume testing centers seat more than 500,000 exams annually.
